3-1 [5] Camille Serme (Fra)     11-5, 8-11, 11-6, 11-5 (41m)
[6] Mohamed Abouelghar 3-0[4] Paul Coll (Nzl)              11-8, 11-8, 11-8 (44m)

"Im very happy that Im through, its always good to play against Camille, shes very fair on court and I really enjoy playing with her.

"The final is never easy, I dont think I played my best squash today but mentally I was maybe better than in other matches.

"In the first she made some errors a little bit and in the second she didnt make any errors at all. Im glad I managed to adapt to the court today and stuck to my plan.

"Ive won this tournament here before and done so badly afterwards in a previous season, so Im just happy with the win for now, Im not thinking about anything else. The plan this season is to take it one match at a time, one point at a time and one rally at a time.

"Hopefully I can play this well again this season, Ive got to play harder to improve and work on new stuff."

"Its the biggest title for me so far and maybe it's my lucky place, so I want to thank everyone involved.

"I expected before the match that it was going to be hard work, and if I wanted to have any chance against Paul I had to be patient and not go for shots as often as I would like. I think when I was sharp when I went short and Im happy that it paid off.

"Not many people get the chance to travel all over the world doing the thing they love so Im just happy to be one of these people. Ill just enjoy every minute and the results will take care of themselves."

Im really happy with my win today over Nour, its never easy, shes very persistent and her retrievals are very good, said El Welily.

Other than that, shes very skilful, very powerful and she never gives up, so Im very happy to come out today with the win.

Im sure its going to be a very tough battle [against Serme] and may the better player win.

Winning her would be amazing, I won the tournament back in 2015 and it was very good timing for me back then.

Since then so many things have changed on Tour, its so different now and Im very happy that the tournament is growing every year. Im very happy to be in the final again and to start the season well would be great for me.

I feel great, especially after beating Greg last night, it didnt sink in and even this morning I was still getting texts saying congratulations as if Id won the tournament.

I tried to take that out of my mind because it was just one match and just one step closer to winning the title hopefully. To play here in the semis in this amazing venue is unbelievable for me.

I expect a lot of running [from Coll], hes an amazing athlete and the way he has evolved to have his own game is really special. Im looking forward to playing the final against him tomorrow and Im 100 per cent sure its going to be a great one for the crowd.

Ive been working hard this summer and to see my work paying off is a great way to start the season and hopefully things go my way tomorrow.

[2] Raneem El Welily 3-2 Nicol David (Mas) 11-4, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5 (43m)

"Nicol was playing very, very good squash today, all credit to her, the way she played was just amazing.

"The circumstances were not the best today... I'm happy that we stayed here as the other courts are quite far from where we are staying so it's not that convenient.

"In the first game there was some drizzle on the floor and it was a bit scary. In the second game or third game I slipped three times which slowed down my movement a little bit and got me thinking outside the court.

"But I'm just happy to be through today, all credit to Nicol for playing so well, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

[1] Nour El Sherbini 3-0 [6] Nouran Gohar 11-6, 11-7, 11-6 (26m)

Im really happy and I feel that Im getting my momentum back and the rhythm of the game.

I think Im a bit comfortable playing against her now. Starting the match knowing that youve already beaten her the other eight games gives me a lot of confidence.

Its always a tough match against Camille, last time we played in Dubai it was a best of three and was quite long. This court is quite hot and bouncy but hopefully it wont be as long as it usually is.

Im looking forward to it and hopefully it will be a good match.

[6] Mohamed Abouelghar 3-2 [3] Gregory Gaultier (Fra)
                                                          12-10, 7-11, 11-4, 6-11, 11-8 (68m)

"I'm very pleased to beat Greg for the first time, I've been watching him growing up and of course I've learned a lot from him.

I'm very happy with how I held it together until the end and turned it around my way this time.

I'm looking forward to play on one of the sickest venues in our sport."

Round 2:
Joel Makin (Wal) 3-1 [7] Omar Mosaad              11-9, 8-11, 11-5, 11-6 (65m)

[3] Nour El Tayeb 3-0 Victoria Lust (Eng)                11-5, 12-10, 11-6 (30m)

[2] Raneem El Welily 3-0 [WC] Li Dongjin (Chn) 3-0: 15-13, 11-6, 11-6 (25m)

The first match of the season is always tough mentally, youre still trying to work things out and see how you feel on court.

I always expect the unexpected from Nicol, shes so good and she definitely played really well to beat Laura today. Im excited to see how shes playing and to see how I can play against her."

[1] Nour El Sherbini 3-0 Tesni Evans (Wal)              14-12, 11-5, 11-5 (29m)

Im definitely pleased, Tesni has been doing great over the last season and she has been playing very tough matches with all of the top five players.

Its the first match of the season and its never going to be an easy match but Im really glad I won in the end.

Its amazing to be playing in front of this view, I think its one of the best venues.

Ive been playing Nouran for a long time now but we never train together because shes in Cairo and Im in Alexandria. Its another tough match, another tough battle in the quarter-finals and Im looking forward to it.
