That match had a lot of spectators, and the score tells you the story! It could have gone either way, the girls were fighting for each point as if it was match ball!

Both moving extremely well and hitting the ball with a fluid movement that reminds me of Nouran Gohar.

Like I said it could have gone either way.

BU13
[1] Youssif Mohamed 3-1 [2] Youssif Roshdy      13/11, 11/7, 8/11, 11/7

Don't expect a report for each match, but I had the chance to see a bit of that one as it was advanced to 2pm, and therefore the only one at that time.

Once again I can only repeat myself. "What is the secret of Egyptian squash"... Just come and watch the local tournaments here. Squash is their LIFE! Their as the parents, the kids the coaches, the refs (excellent I might add). The intensity and involvement is just incredible.

Today Youssef Mohamed was in complete control in the first game, 8/3, only to see his taller and very powerful opponent claw Youssif Roshdy back point by point.

At 8/8 a bloo injury for a scratch on the hand, 10/8 to Mohamed, but again a nice come back and even a game ball for Roshdy, 11/10. Still it's the smaller Youssif that takes the first 13/11, then the second 11/7.

A third dominated by the Bigger Youssef, who played superbly with poise and intent, 11/8 but in the 4th, although he seemed pretty tired, Little

Youssef stuck in there, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, and finally 11/7. No big celebration for Mohamed, very good attitude from both players.

GU13  [2] Fayrouz Ehab 3-1 [1] Login Elgohary

GU15
[4] Mentallah Walid 3-0 [12] Salma Eltayeb                  11-9, 11-8, 13-11

Maybe the most intense of all matches today. Absolutely nothing between the players, mabye Mentallah believing in herself a bit more at times than Salma, but what do I know. An incredible display of squash from both.

One of those matches  you didn't want a loser. Unfortunately, we needed a winner and with a toss of a coin, Mentallah gets the title. Beautiful the whole way.

GU17
[1] Farida Mohamed 3-2 [14] Nour Khaled 12-10, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4

It was a seesaw match that one, with the two players taking control each their turn, and looking the likely winner... Farida is like her sister, a very strong and determined young lady that just never surrender.

Against her, Nour just tried and absorbed the power again and again. It was a good battle, and it seemed at 2/1 up that Nour had finally broke Farida momentum. But a drop of energy from Nour and Farida just rolled all the way to the victory, looking more and more confident at the business end approached...

We have played so many times.... I was trying to keep the ball away from me, and get her out of position. I was thinking about playing 2 shots at the back, and then go for something...

Nour is a year younger than me, I think it made a difference at the end. Also, I made sure I kept focusing on my game, and my game only.

A big thank you to my parents and my sister, who is helping me a lot. Also my coaches Captain Tameem El Welily, Ahmed Shohayeb and Mosaad.

I was playing very well for three games, but then I got a bit tired and I just lost my focus. I did try and push until the end, but she was just too good at the end...

GU19
[6] Hana Moataz 3-0 [1] Gana Shia                        11-5, 11-2, 11-9

I fell that Gana was never mentally or physically in the match. Looking very flat mentally and physically, she was today unable to put any consistent pressure on a Hana extremely relax and lethally accurate...

All season, I'm not sure why, I have put a lot of pressure on myself, and it didn't work that well for me as I kept on losing. So for this event, I decided to just do my best without expecting anything. And it worked really well.

I made sure I pushed her in the back corner and volley as much as I could, taking her away from the middle of the court as she is extremely dangerous there.

A big thank you to my mum for always supporting me, and my coaches, Omar Abdel Aziz, Bassem Mokram and my fitness coach Hossam.
